Amp'd is now owned by Prexar this review was written about Amp'd we will update when Prexar comes out with more details.

Amp'd Mobile is a feature rich service featuring the ability to download video and music. Like most MVNO's their primary focus in on the 18-29 year old crowd. (In this case the MTV crowd.)

Amp'd Mobile has a variety of different plans targeting consumers who range from just wanting a mobile phone, to power users who want Internet, video, and music.

Amp'd is a more common sense plan for those who want to use the powerful Verizon network without subscribing to the costly Verizon In-Pulse prepaid service.

Amp'd downsides are it's high equipment costs, and ala carte fees for downloading music and videos. Personally I'd rather watch video on a big screen TV than my tiny gimmiky cell phone. I just don't see the appeal of watching TV on a 3 inch screen.

Since this is a prepaid review site we usually stick to reviewing prepaid plans, but it is worth a mention that Amp'd offers a 1000 minute plan for $50/month, and an unlimited minutes plan for around $100 (something most major carriers have been afraid to do). The different Amp'd plans seem to accomodate everyone from the occasional user to the talk-a-holic. The equipment costs are also lower if you get a plan. Just beware of the 18 month contract.
