T-mobile to Go is our favorite prepaid plan. Primarily because of the "gold" rewards program which gives you service for a whole year if you spend over $100 in minutes. T-mobile also provides web access at no extra cost. Minutes typically cost anywhere from .10 to .13 depending on how many you purchase.

T-mobile is also renowned for their excellent customer service. Their GSM network also provides decent coverage and signal strength but, is not as robust as GSM competitor Cingular/AT&T.

Another thing I like about T-mobile is that you can take any unlocked GSM phone and use it on their service. I bought a unlocked GSM phone was was able to take the phone to a T-Mobile store and get a sim card installed and obtain a year of prepaid service.

Text messaging (SMS) with T-mobile To Go is 5 cents to receive and 10 cents to send which is slightly more costly then the industry standard of 5 cents to send or receive. T-mobile sells a wide variety of phones ranging from a basic phone with web access for $30, to the more advanced T-Mobile Sidekick phone for $300.

T-mobile to go phones and refill cards are widely available from many retail outlets, convenience stores, and T-mobile stores.
