2/6/08 The weblog Engadget reports that Voce is "dead"

Voce calls itself a "premium" wireless company. The "Bentley" of wireless service. Their phones are available at select Neiman-Marcus stores in locations like South Beach, Hollywood, New York.

Voce caters to the affluent Paris Hilton set. You will need to shell out $500 to join Voce, and the monthly bill will be $200.

Voce service is all inclusive, there is no limits on usage such as per minute fees, or text message fees. Voce service also includes a concierge in additional to standard customer service. Just dial the standard 611.

Voce offers the red carpet treatment for it's members. If you loose your phone, another will be on it's way. If you just want to find a good place to take your clients for your dinner, they can hook you up with that too.

If you have the money to spend, and your time is that precious, Voce might be the wireless company for you. For those of us, who are not on the 'A' list and prefer to shop at Wal-Mart instead of Neiman-Marcus, Voce is probably not the best choice.
